About
Paul
|
My
name is Paul Burd. I'm
a Professional Musician and Music Teacher. Member
of the Music Teachers' Association of California.
I
have been teaching music
for over
25
years:
Piano,
Keyboard
and
Accordion.
I
am classically
educated and
trained instructor with
a College
degree
in teaching music to children and adults and I also
have a lot of experience in recording and arranging
music in different genre(s): pop, jazz, blues and
rock. I love seeing students succeed and I have developed
teaching strategies and methodologies that simplify
many of the learning processes.
My "serious" musical career started when
I turned 7. I saw some movie in which the main character
had a passion for music, and wanted to become a famous
musician. I experienced the same feeling. So, I took
a wooden board, hammered in five pins on each side
of it, stretched rubber bands on each opposite pair
of them, painted it, "tuned the strings",
and started playing this self-made guitar / banjo
instrument. I sang songs to its accompaniment, which
was real fun for my adult folks and neighbors.
Later on, due to hard work my dreams came true, and
I became an expert in the world of music. I played
and made recordings with different bands as a keyboard
and synthesizer player and I have combined all this
experience with my classical education and created
my own method of teaching people of various age groups
to play the piano and keyboard, tailoring their musical
interests and needs to their potential achievements.
My desire is to provide them with "tools"
to make music accessible for anyone who wants to enjoy
the playing and creating music for themselves.
And what is more, it gives me particular pleasure,
when my students make progress and feel happy.
